Mousaka

again! Lols. This is my favourite Greek food. I tried it in another restaurant. It tasted nice, but a tad too dry. Watched the sunset from Fira again. It rained again when we were walking out. The weather really hates us today. Tomorrow should be nice sunny day. Beach!

Will be taking the bus to Perissa and then walk to Ancient Thira and Kamari and then take a bus back from Kamari. Hopefully the walk journey ain't 15 km. These places look really near each other on the map. Lol. We'll see!

p/s: Internet connection here is super awesome fast! Download speed...superb. =x

Ice Cweam

I had! Magnum cone. I chose something vanilla looking and it turned out to be chocolate T_T. It wasn't bad though...chocolate bottom was nice hee.

Gonna go watch the sun set again in Fira. The thunderstorm went away however, we couldn't go anywhere because the last bus to come back is at 4.15 pm and we wanted to go to Oia to see the sunset at 5.20 pm. No point. So it was back to the room for us. It's really room day. We attempted to get out twice and failed.

Worm

in my breakfast. I was terrified. Thank goodness I looked before I bite. I went back into the bakery to show him. He gave me back the 1 Euro I paid. After awhile I saw the boy throwing all the food out. So much for breakfast. I guess I've not a choice but to take 1 packet of the nuts that I've bought as souvenir. I don't even know if I can carry that much back to Malaysia. Eat first, think later. I really want to go back to the bakery that is 3 km away :(.

Someone said I look fat and it's ringing in my head. and Aunty Beef is spanking me with a frying pan LOL. This is so fun.

Thunderstorm

Today. And it's gonna last until 5 pm. The weather forecast is very accurate! I don't know if we're lucky or not. A day to rest our sore feet? lols. Honestly, the pain has gone already. I think.

I'm hungry :( and it's raining very heavily outside. No breakfast?! *looks into the bag for the souvenirs* *nyam* I'll just tell em, sorry no souvenirs from Greece because, I was hungry I ATE EM ALL! *with puppy eyes*. T_T I can't do it. But I'm hungry... *dang* the temptation of those nuts that was bought without any seal. They are those ancient paper bags.

That's here we were heading towards. I think we're almost there! NOT. That's where we were from, somewhere back there.
I think we're almost reaching, we're getting nearer, can you see?! Maybe not...
We're there we're there! In another hour. LOL. Finally there!? Another 800 metres a guy said, after 800 metres, the next guy says another 200 metres, and it went on. We were at the edge by then.

Akrotiri

isn't a mile away. It was probably 25 km away. Okay maybe 15 km, but it's the same when you have to walk up and down hills! We walked 3 km and someone local stopped and asked if we were going to Akrotiri. He offered us a ride! When I was in the car, I was laughing my ass off at myself for being so stupid. Walk? to Akrotiri? What a joke! It was so freaking far up and up the mountains and down and through winding roads. It would've taken us another 5 hours to get there.

On the way back, we wanted to take the bus. Unfortunately, there wasn't any. We waited, we walked, we waited, we walked... still no bus. After 5 km, we were still walking. Suddenly a car stopped. This guy asked if we dropped a camera. I was wondering why did he look so familiar. He was the owner of the hotel we stay in and we picked up a camera yesterday and handed it to him. He stopped because he thought we were the one who lost it. He then asked if we wanted a ride. RIDE! OMG RIDE! OF COURSE WE WANTED A RIDE?! T_T *tears of joy*

I was thirsty, but I was also desperate for the toilet and my legs were turning jello and the sun was so hot, and I look like half an indian. Why would I not want a ride!!!! I didn't bring my driving license :( no ATV for me on Monday! Sigh, I guess it's the bus...

Hungry!

Dinner at 3 pm isn't helpful. At 11 pm I'm hungry! I can't go back to sleep when I'm hungry. Thank goodness I still have cereal left from the day I left for Greece. Lol. It is always good to have food stocked up :). Whats for breakfast tomorrow though...

I know!

Eat the souvenirs I bought for everyone. Whose should I eat first? LOL!

4 miles

of walking up the mountains and hills is a killer. My legs broken from the previous day is broken again. Had stuffed egg plant at 3 pm today which was an early dinner. Delicious, if it wasn't overmicrowaved till the skin was burnt. Greek lunchtime is 3 pm. Their dinnertime is 10 pm.
It's now 6.20 pm and my friend is asleep. I'm probably gonna head for bed soon too. It's been a long day which started at 2 am.

Pickpocketed

Almost. I felt someone touching my bag. Less than a minute later found out that the zip was opened but nothing was stolen. I knew who opened the zip anyways. They left the train when I took my backpack off my back and placed it between my legs. Edmunds backpack's zip was opened too. It was these two Greek couple. This fat lady purposely pushed me out to stand inside leaving me between her and her boyfriend or husband or whatsoever. That was a stupid move. I was annoyed when she pushed me and hence I pushed through the guy and moved out nearer to the door away from them. Although away and the train wasn't really crowded, the guy was still at my back and he was pushing towards me. That's so obvious! He did it on purpose trying to reach into my bag. Stupid. He definitely can't find anything in my bag since in the bag is mostly junk like water bottle, umbrella and junkfood. I'd be the world's stupidest person if I were to leave money right at the top for him to pickpocket.

No POSE! No CLIMB! ROFL

Officially finished walking the whole of Athens on the map given out by the hotel in 2 and a half days. LOL!

2 words that we've kept laughing about was No Pose when we were in the National Archaelogical Museum yesterday and No Climb when we were at one of the sites today. I really like posing and I wasn't allowed to at all! I cannot even move my hand to point! WTH! Or I cannot even stretch my head closer to the object, it was considered posing... speechless. I had to be statue like the whole time. Yawn!

Today we had our leftovers for breakfast and then picked up coffee and chocolate on the way to the Acropolis. The route to the Acropolis was not only far but steep. It was more climbing uphill! Thank goodness for lovely weather. If it was like the day before, it would've been a real nightmare. *stares at my feet with pity*. It was very crowded at the Acropolis, the weather was probably the main contributor. We reached up there, and got our tickets for 12 Euros each. It allowed us to visit 6 attractions in Athens, 7 including the Acropolis. We however still have 3 left at the end of the day.

We actually didn't intend to even use the tickets as there was nothing much to see. The ruins were just stones here and there. The Acropolis was under construction... It just wasn't to expectation but it was still rather, unique compared to other places that I've visited. Nowhere else had that many stones all over the place. =p When we were walking, we somehow passed by a place where we could use the tickets and hence we just said, lets just use it. Lol. The place that we thought was Agora wasn't Agora and at 4 pm we accidentally got to Agora! Thank goodness the place closed at 5. Today we ended up at the Temple of Zeus by accident too but guess what? We were there 3.15 and the place closed at 3 pm...

While restaurant hunting, we found a local restaurant that was really crowded. The restaurant was small and secluded but it was really packed. Figured that it must be really good so we decided to go back for dinner later on. I marked the place on the map. We went back in the evening and thinking that noone could speak English, we wanted to leave. Suddenly a young guy appeared and asked are you ready? And we were like great! English! We can order. Lol. Lucky we didn't leave. The food was totally awesome! We ordered Mousaka and grilled calamari to share half each. It was worth the money! 10 Euros. I loved the Mousaka. *drooling for more*

I'm so sleepy. My brain is not functioning. I'll probably rewrite all these when I've got the mood to.

Today I've been taking my own photographs using the timer. It's difficult when you're on a holiday with someone who doesn't know how to take photographs :(.

Athens Greece

Day 1 - I had diarrhoea before I got out of the house to make my way to the airport at 9 pm. I still had diarrhoea when I was at the airport and on board the plane. After 13 hours, I still had diarrhoea thankfully wasn't bad. We arrived in Athens at 1.10 pm. Arrived at the hotel at about 3 pm. We took the train instead of the bus because Edmund's friend said that the traffic in Athens is bad. Verdict? It's true! The traffic is really bad. The traffic is pretty chaotic as well. Scary that people don't really stop when the traffic is red or when people are crossing. The cars comes from like every direction and we have to be really careful. We don't feel safe at all on the streets. The trains were 5 Euro per person per way and took about 45 minutes directly to Monastiraki station.

When we arrived at The Attalos Hotel, I was a little disappointed because it didn't at all look like the photograph on the website. Lol. Fortunately the interiors were nice and the disappointment just faded away. This is a very recommended place to stay as it is comfy and near to the Monastiraki Station which is the Metro station and the Monastiraki Flea Market as well as Plaka, all the restaurants, the shopping area, Syntagma and the Acropolis. The advantage of it is that it has a rooftop bar that has a great view of the Acropolis. Sadly, my camera cannot get a great shot of the magnificent view. :( *sobs*. I am still gonna try to take a good shot!

We visited Central Market because Edmund said there was food there, something like London Borough Market or Queen Victoria Market. Guess what, it was partially like Queen Victoria Market, it had food alright. All the raw meat! So much for hoping to get lunch there. Lol. We then made our way to the National Gardens, and we wanted to look for the Temple of Zeus but we couldn't find it. Everywhere was surrounded by orange trees and I am very tempted to pluck. I've still not plucked one yet because there were police everywhere especially around the National Gardens, probably because some VIP lives there. It was very well guarded. There were armies, cops and guards. The Monastiraki Flea Market was nice with lotsa things to buy (something like Petaling Street market). Syntagma was just a building, nothing to see but we did go there to check out the 24 hours bus that we're gonna take to get to the airport for our flight to Santorini.

Day 2 - We checked the weather forecast the night before and it reported that it would rain the whole day. Plans for Acropolis had to be moved to Wednesday. We went to the National Archaelogical Museum, Lycabettus Hill and the Olympic Stadium. We also had the Temple of Zeus planned again today. It wasn't a good day though as we were dripping wet all the way up and down Lycabettus Hill and until we decided to get back to the hotel at 4.30 pm. The hill was super far, and super high up and we still managed to walk up in the wind and rain. The view was spectacular from the highest hill in Athens however it would have been better if the sun was out and the sky was blue. The rain got heavier and heavier as we walked towards the Olympic Stadium and worse when we searched for the Temple of Zeus. I asked for directions twice and noone knew what the Temple of Zeus was. *swt* I wonder if Zeus is pronounced in a different way by the Greeks or not. They definitely did not understand English but I'm sure Temple of Zeus isn't that different is it? When we finally found it, the roads were all flooded with 1 feet of water and we could not cross the road to get to the Temple. We decided that we can't take photographs in the heavy rain also so we skipped it. Tomorrow! I was fully drenched with my feet soaking in water and not even an inch of my clothes dry even with an umbrella. Shoes wet, trying to dry em with the hair dryer, been on it for more than an hour! Money all wet, bag all wet. No signs of a fever yet so *fingers crossed*

Photographs? All on Facebook. I might add em here some time later if I'm hardworking. Lol.

Day 3 - The Acropolis, Agora and Temple of Zeus (again).

Danyl Johnson - X Factor

I really hope that he will pick himself up and ignore the bad comments from people. People are just jealous of him seriously! He's such an awesome singer and performer. Cocky? Thats crap. Confidence is what made him such a likeable and awesome performer. Go Danyl Johnson! =)

Painting

is a tiring job. Although time flies when you're painting, it's seriously a back aching, shoulder breaking, hand numbing job. My hands swollen and blistered. My legs blueblacked. I painted the whole hallway today by myself. I've never painted so much in my whole life before! Up the ladder down the ladder up the ladder down the ladder, step aerobics my mom says.

*shy* I'm so painted. I kept wiping my hands onto the jeans forgetting that I have to walk around in public with em. To make it look like it isn't dirty, I decided to transform em into some hearts. It looks like a Guess shirt that I have! Or maybe not...lol
My mom happily painting. Thats a £4K piece of art. Seriously, I could have done it with my paint brush and roller. Who wants to buy!? I am willing to draw one for half the price!

Playing around with accessories that was in the house that we were painting. Hee. So Phantom of the Opera!

Autumn in London. The surroundings look so pretty. I'm loving Autumn this year with the temperature at 20 degrees which hasn't happened in years!

Mattresses and Frying Pans

There's this ad on the radio, the way they pronounce mattresses and frying pans is, mut -tresses and frying puns by Sainsburys.

Singing - Sing ging
British - Brit ish

and so many others. I don't understand English anymore.

Guess what? I'll be sleeping at Heathrow Terminal 5 this Sunday night because there isn't any 24 hour shuttle bus or train to the airport. Earliest train? 5.45 am. Flight? 8.15 am. Travel time? 2 hours. Miss flight? Definitely. Lol. London's airport can be the most inconvenient airport to get to. Cab? 50 pounds? 80 pounds? Forget it. I am going to sleep at the airport! Bring lotsa lotsa sweets, lotsa lotsa books, okay maybe not, I'll buy a magazine instead. I can't exceed 7 kg. I am still thinking whether I should bring my laptop. 8 days, with 6 pounds credit in my phone and lots of sight seeing in Greece with lots of photographs to take, should I?

Electronics

I hate.

1. My external hard disks usb inlet broke, so to use it, I have to either solder it back or use my fingers, hold on to it, while I plug it in and use in hope that I don't get electrocuted.

2. I just bought a battery for my laptop which, does not fit properly (it works but it doesn't charge) and I am definitely gonna make a lost in postage in order for a refund.

3. When I thought that my laptop has been working excellent and the reason why I bought a battery for it to replace the long gone original battery, it disappoints me by going silent! The laptop learnt that silence is golden!?

I have failed to make it talk. I am still trying. This ain't gonna be easy.

Cab

nowadays are so expensive. I spent RM85.50 for cab from KLIA to Subang when I came back from Australia and RM20.00 for cab from Pekeliling to Sri Hartamas which was only a 15 minute journey. I don't know if I was cheated or not honestly. At least I haggled. The guy actually charged me RM30.00.

From KLIA if we took the cab before 6 am, it would have been RM123 I think. Thank goodness we only had to wait for 5 minutes to purchase the cab ticket at a lower price. KLIA has a new rule whereby only authorised KLIA cabs are allowed to take people out from the airport which is seriously CRAP! CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP! I found out when I wanted a 2 way cab from KL to KLIA. The cab driver told me that he can only send one way and we would have to purchase the cab ticket and take the KLIA cabs back out. Seriously. He said he can't even pick his wife. They would give him a ticket for it. =_=". I am beyond speechless.

Job Hunting

Gosh, honestly I've not done this in ages. Update my resume? I think that was back when I was 17! Saying that made me sound like I'm now 53! Lol. But seriously, I don't remember how to. I've got no choice though, it's either that or washing the toilet for my brother, which isn't so bad actually if I can get him to pay me 4K a month *in my dreams*.

My brother called me earlier to get me to change all the ftp passwords and account passwords for his company website. After not logging in for a month or more (4 months maybe =x), I've forgotten the id and password. My brother didn't remember either. Lol. He was like erm errr arrr on the phone and then he said, I'll try to find it. I had to knock my head on the wall, crack it open like a nut in search for the id and password. Okay. I googled for an answer. Typed into the search box "How on earth to retrieve the admin password for Joomla". Ta da. I managed to reset the password and set a new one. *phew!*

I've ordered a box for my extra stuff. 40kg allowance. I hope it's enough. My things don't seem that much but somehow at the end of the day, something pops outta nowhere. I'm now fussing about my wheelie hand luggage. It sorta fits the measurement given by Emirates however I'm afraid they might measure it differently and won't allow the 1 inch / 2 inch difference. If that happens, I'll get charged for the luggage and I'd regret it, 1000202021010%. I've measured it like 10 times. I'm still not sure. Guidelines on how to measure your luggage properly might help. *swt*
